I know many people get restless this time of year for Spring weather, and usually I'm right with them.  But this year, I've been savoring the snowy days.  Our village is beautiful in the snow, it almost feels magical.  It's quiet beauty.....which brings me to today's inspiration: winter white.

There are tons of dining tables with marble tops all over the place, but this one is currently my favorite. 

Ever since I got my tree stump here, I've been seeing tons of pictures online of different ways to style/use a stump.  Although using tree stumps as side tables and coffee tables is nothing new (not that it matters), I'm finding more and more how much I love bringing nature into my house.  I love spending time outdoors with my family, so it makes sense.  Somehow bringing bits of the outdoors into my home has a calming effect on me.

 1.  This might be my favorite styling for a tree stump......three layered slices.  Mine isn't large enough, but I love this all the same. 

After a fun-filled weekend, I finally had a chance to sit down and browse Lonny's November issue.  I've already seen a couple of these images floating around the internet, so I apologize ahead of time if they are repeats for you.  This first image graced the cover for good reason, isn't it beautiful?

Whether you realize it or not, you probably have at one time admired Petra Bindel's  work.  Her beautiful photography has been featured in design and retail magazines (such as Elle & Urban Outfitters), blogs, and it's all over pinterest.  Looking through her site, I even saw numerous images that I have featured on here.  Her work truly is lovely....if you have time, be sure to check out her site.

I'm not sure if this is faux brick or the real deal, but either way I really love it.  You would think that indoor brick floors would be cold and uninviting, but I find it quite the opposite.  Thoughts?

Hope all my East Coast friends are staying safe and warm!  So far, we have not been as affected by Hurricane Sandy- but that didn't keep us from making a last minute run to the store.  Be careful out there!

I don't know about you, but sometimes I notice themes in my pins on pinterest.  Lately I find myself drawn to large old mirrors, brass if I had to choose.  On another note- sorry I've been absent this week,  it's been one of those crazy weeks where I haven't felt on top of anything and just needed to take a break to simplify my life.  But I'm here, and it's Friday (whew!) and I wish you all the best weekend.

Ok, so here's one I'm not sure about.  I like black walls and I like painted brick walls (white)......but black painted over brick?  I can't decide what I think about it.  I would love to hear your thoughts on this one.
