Happy New Year!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.  We had a whirlwind of a trip, seeing family in both Virginia and Georgia.  It was special experiencing our first Christmas as parents, and showing R off to my extended family.  I was reminded of how blessed I am to be a part of such a loving and fun family.  Needless to say, we were exhausted when we arrived home last night.  We brought in the New Year with sparkling water (wishing it was champagne- I clearly did not plan ahead) and a kiss.  Today was a chill day spent talking about the coming year and walking through the snowy winter wonderland that appeared while we were gone.  I thought I would give you a roundup of my favorite calendars for the coming year......Happy New Year!

Since making my chalkboard piece,  I've been finding look-alikes for sale online.  Ends up, I wasn't as innovative as I originally thought.......

 

Here's the thing guys:  I generally try not to overwhelm you with posts about shops and house items.  This is partly for me (I don't want to be consumed with buying more things or wanting things I can't have), and partly because I want this blog to encourage you guys (and me) to achieve beautiful design creatively (through DIY projects, craigslist, and re-purposing).  BUT, every now and then I come across things that I find so inspiring that I have to share.....and the new textiles in at West Elm are just that.

Like many of you, I was really excited about Zara Home coming to the States (Now we just need to work on H&M Home and Toast).  Although I did enjoy browsing yesterday, what caught my eye was Zara Home Kids.   I love this playful and sweet collection.

I thought I would do a quick roundup for you of some of my favorite art prints for nurseries and kid's rooms.  Of course, probably the sweetest art and most prized wall prints will be the ones that your child creates.....but these may spark some creativity in your little one.

Another one of my favorite shops, Ferm Living just came out with their Autumn/Winter 2012 collection.  It's unsuprisingly chocked full of beautiful geometric designs and gorgeous textiles.  If you haven't already, pay special attention to their amazing wallpaper selection.

Hope you guys had a wonderful Fourth!  We had a very chill holiday- complete with grilling , fireworks, and I even snuck in my first run since having Reese.  In the whole time we've been together, it's a rare occasion that Red is actually here for the Fourth due to military training/deployment, so I never take it for granted when we get to be together.
