Curtainless?

Ok. So here's the deal. After one month of being on the wait list for on post housing, things didn't look to promising (we moved from #86 to #83). That wasn't encouraging news after one month (in a hotel) of tuna/Panera for me, and soup/sandwiches/English muffin pizzas for Red. So, after much searching we found a place. It's in a beautiful area by Lake Ontario, and our new home has lots of character........as in- it was built during the war of 1812. Obviously it's been restored since then, but it has a lot of charm to it. The rooms are smaller, there's less closet space, BUT there's tons of gorgeous windows and high ceilings which I'm really excited about. I can only imagine how beautiful it will be in the winter when it snows every day (so I'm told). That leads me to today's topic. Curtains. I love them, but they are probably the biggest decorating challenge I have had as a military wife. We have lived in countless homes in the last 5 years, and each with different numbers and sizes of windows. There is really no way to justify buying curtains for our new home since it's far from a permanent living situation. I'm more than ok with it in this home because the windows are old and beautiful. Here is some inspiration if you find yourself in the same boat.

  1. Your new home sounds beautiful. You should post some pictures of it and some of the decorating you are doing.
