Home Tour: Claire Zinnecker

I've been a longtime fan of Claire Zinnecker's design. Her spaces are bright and airy with pastels intermixed. She has a unique take on design that is fresh and undecidedly her own, and I love that. When I saw her home tour featured on Domino a while back, I knew I had to share.

I love the leather pulls on the cabinets and couldn't help noticing the blue floor. It really works in this space!
Can we just talk about the copper dishwasher?!!
I've been obsessed with daybeds as of late, and this one is perfection in my book. I love how Claire manages to bring in a lot of pinks without it feeling overwhelming or taking away from the bright and airy feeling.
There are so many lovely and unique details in this bathroom.
This gallery wall makes me want to rethink my minimalist tendencies.

Beautiful, yes? You can see more pictures of Claire's home on Domino's site.

House Tour: In Black & White

There are few home tours that feel more "me" than this one. From the moment I saw it featured over on Design Sponge ,  I felt immediately right at home. The mixtures of modern and charm, midcentury and Parisian, Moroccan tile floor and marble backsplash, and all that matte black….you know that had me instantly. Coincidentally, I've also been on the lookout for some old theater seats like they have in their entryway and I'm fairly certain that is the exact chandelier I originally wanted for our dining room (before I had to settle on a DIY). All I can say is, this brownstone is a dream….and I tried to boil it down to just a few favorite shots and I couldn't, so here you have it:

An Eclectic House Tour

I've been following Amber for almost as long as I've been into this whole design blogging thing, and I have to say this house might just be my favorite of all her work….so much that I had to share. The white walls with matte black interspersed, the textiles, and the mixture of mid-century and global furnishings all of me head over heels for this place. Check here for more as well as the before pics!

Perfectly Imperfect

I recently came across Jen Smith's home via Domino and fell so in love with her dining room. It's perfectly imperfect, if there is such a thing. I'm just as awestruck by gorgeous decked out NYC lofts as the next person,  but the older I get the more I find myself inspired by design that is functional and attainable….relatable to my life. This home is just that, while achieving beautiful and unique design. Be sure to check out the rest of Jen's home.

Artist Crush- Pepa Poch

When I happened upon Pepa's work in Lonny's September issue, it was love at first site. These dreamy blues are calling my name and giving me the travel bug. After doing a little research, it's was unsurprising to find her home just as striking (and off the Spanish coast)….
Ps. And thank you to Style Me Pretty Living for featuring my DIY dining room lighting today!

House Tour: Kate Arends

As a long time fan of Kate Arends of Wit & Delight, I'm so excited about sharing her house tour here.  Every glimpse I've had into her home whether it was via her blog or instagram left me craving more, and these photos do not disappoint.  Kate has an uncanny talent for blending old and new.  Not only do we share similar design styles, but I see some familiar looking things in her house such as a Caroline Wright painting.  I especially appreciate what she had to say about her design aesthetic, "I like pairing old things with new things.  I like furniture with a story.  I like to break one or two rules, to keep it a little imperfect.  Fresh cut flowers are always a good idea." Go here to see more of Kate's home.

House Tour- an old Schoolhouse Transformed

I was just catching up on my reading today, and was feeling somewhat uninspired.  About to close my laptop and call it a day, I happened upon this amazing house tour over on Planet-deco  of a beautiful transformation by a Pennsylvania couple (hopefully you haven't seen it already).  There are so many details that I love about this home, but here are some of my favorites- the Russell Woodard dining chairs, the black trim in the stairwell, and the entire master bathroom (just wow!).   See here for more pictures.
