Scenes from my weekend

Admittedly not the most up-to-date person on the latest movies, I was intrigued by The Artist ever since it won Best Picture. Red and I saw it this weekend, and let me tell you......see it in theaters for the full effect. It was a beautiful film, and though I was expecting to be entertained, I was not expecting to be moved. It took me back to the Fred Astaire & Ginger Roger movies I grew up watching with my sisters as we put sponge curlers in our hair. I might just have to go a second time with my Grandma. Ps. This is not the movie you want to eat noisy food........I may have dropped my empty water bottle a couple times and it may have echoed throughout the theater.

Lake Ontario was making waves this weekend....40mph!

I finally snagged some vintage crates from craigslist. I have been on the lookout for a while, and they say "Dupont Explosives" on them........ which leads me to think they *might be from the explosive plant that was in Dupont, WA in the early 1900s. Dupont holds a special place in our hearts, being the longest we have lived anywhere during our 5 1/2 years of marriage. Situated right on the Puget Sound with views of Mt. Rainier on a clear day, it's an easy drive to Seattle and has the best running routes of anywhere I have lived. It's nice to have a little bit of Dupont history in our home.

  1. Aw I'm so sentimental about those times too! Not about you and Connor living in Dupont haha but about watching old movies with my sisters with curlers in our hair :). The Artist is definitely high on my list to see now!
