A few weeks ago, some close friends of ours flew in from NY for the weekend.  My brother also came in town, and we threw together a little Kentucky Derby party just the small lot of us.  We sipped Mint Julips, wore big hats, and ate Kentucky Fried Chicken.  I painted a photo backdrop of Churchill Downs, and we had fun placing bets and being a part of the event from a far.  As the way most of these things go, there were a few glitches…..it was extremely windy and the placeholders kept flying off the table, and we also realized a little late that the backdrop was not in the ideal spot for pictures (the sun was coming in from behind).  No matter, it's all about the memories!
