Some Things Take Time
Some things take time…like finishing this little reading nook in our bedroom…and learning to be a good wife/mother/friend….and being pregnant for 9 months….and getting back in shape…and that list could go on and on. These days I'm learning to be patient with myself and the less than perfect, to sit back and enjoy the process, and to say to myself "some things take time".
~
They say the bedroom is the last place in the house to receive attention, and that's certainly been the case for us. When we bought our house a year and a half ago, I didn't have any high hopes for our bedroom. It was purple for starters….. huge (tricky if you don't have huge furniture), and there was some weird architectural aspects that I didn't love. We've come a long ways since that first impression though, and for the first time since we've been married- I really love our bedroom. Not only is it the hangout space for the family on Saturday mornings, but this little reading nook has quickly become one of my favorite places to unwind.

Can I ask if you remember what fabric the chair is? I found it on West Elm and there are about 8 different types:) Dying for a reading nook like this one day!!
ReplyDeleteNicole, its the Linen Weave in Pebble….such a cozy chair, you'll love it!
DeleteThank you so much! Pretty much sold on this being *the* chair:)
DeleteYes, what fabric is this? West Elm's site has an abundance of choices and their pictures are not the best.

ReplyDeleteLove this look! I actually just purchased the same print. Where did you find the gold frame?
ReplyDeleteHey Sarah- the frame is an old Ikea frame that I spray painted gold:)
DeleteWhat is your wall color? I'm in the middle of picking whites and I'm about to go crazy! Also-do you have any tips about undertones and mixing several whites in a room (baseboards, cabinets, wall)? They will all be white but I don't know how to marry two-three whites.
ReplyDeleteWhites are so hard! We ended up with Valspar's Ultra White and were really happy with it. Our baseboards are whatever color white the owners before us used (they need to be painted desperately), and the difference between the two whites does not stand out to me at all…..only the chipped paint on the baseboards:). I think you would be fine choosing a couple different whites as long as you are consistent (same color for walls, same for all the cabinets, etc…). Now you have me thinking about my baseboards………:).
DeleteAny issues with the chair so far? I was thinking of purchasing it for our living room.
ReplyDeletecan i know the chair dimensions please..?
